Selecting a gemstone is a highly personal choice as colours, and gemstones, mean something different to everyone. You may favour your birthstone, or a certain gemstone for sentimental reasons. You may simply find yourself mesmerised by a stone due to its depth of colour or the arresting way light transfers through the gem.

Indicolite tourmaline is a brilliant indigo-blue coloured gemstone. Naturally occurring, tourmaline is one of the most sought after gemstones. It is the October birthstone and is also believed to carry strong healing abilities.

The word tourmaline comes from the Sinhalese word toramalli meaning ‘stone with mixed colours’. Tourmalines come in a wide variety of exciting colours, offering one of the widest colour ranges of any gem species. Often multiple hues are present within a single tourmaline.
