What do you love most about your job as a fashion journalist and stylist?

I love helping men and women feel confident through their daily fashion choices – breaking down, interpreting and explaining seasonal trends to my audience and readers. I also love the creative aspect of my job, telling stories and inspiring people through clothing, jewellery and accessories.

Gold Oval Hoops with Detachable Pearls, $1,450, Long Mixed Shape White South Sea Pearl Strand, $8,850, and Yellow Gold Diamond Fleur De Lis Ring, $5,880.

List your top three tips for styling jewellery?

For me, jewellery falls into 2 categories:

1)    It has a sentimental purpose and means something to the wearer.

2)    It is there to complete an outfit. Draw attention. Elevate.

If it feels contrived or uncomfortable in any way, take it off! Jewellery is how we personalise an outfit and really make it our “own”. There is no right or wrong, do what feels most comfortable and confident for you. I love when people fuse trend pieces with their fine jewellery, it gives an outfit so much character and is a great conversation starter!

What is your favourite Allure South Sea Pearls’ piece?

The Long Mixed Shape White South Sea Pearl Strand has a special place in my heart!

It is the perfect combination of classic and statement. It will never date, yet will always draw a compliment. From sharp suiting, to a button-down shirt and jeans, this piece completes any ensemble.

When it comes to A/W trends, what’s this season’s biggest hit? What’s the trend you’ll be skipping?

I love experimenting with trends and tend to do this through accessories such as shoes, bags and jewellery. I keep my clothes classic and suited to my body shape. I’m looking forward to experimenting with clogs, statement sunglasses, oversized pearl earrings, body jewellery, dark nails and asymmetric tops.

This season, I’m avoiding purchasing overly trendy clothing with bold prints or colours as these don’t particularly suit me or my current wardrobe.

Large Seedless Pearl Hoops, $3,980, Organic Baroque Pearl Pendant, $2,480, and Seedless Trio Pearl Ring, $2,345.

What is the best advice you’ve been given?

My Father always said, “If you can’t fix it, don’t worry about it.” It is something that always keeps me calm, cool and collected.

I also love the quote “Over-prepare, then go with the flow.” It’s such a great life-, work-, Mum-philosophy because so many things are ultimately out of our control.
