From Pearl to Piece: The Making of an Allure Creation

Every Allure South Sea Pearls piece begins not in a workshop, but in the ocean. Once a pearl has spent a minimum of two years growing within its oyster, cleaned fortnightly, tended by hand, left to develop its nacre at the pace nature dictates, it is harvested and brought ashore for grading. Our team of experienced pearl professionals assess each pearl individually: lustre first and always, then shape, complexion, size, and colour. Only those that meet Allure’s standard for exceptional lustre are accepted into a collection.

From there, the design process is led by our in-house goldsmiths at our Broome and Subiaco workshops, where most Allure pieces are still handcrafted today. Each pearl is matched to its setting with the same deliberateness applied at the farm: the weight of the gold, the selection of diamonds, the proportion of the mount, all considered in service of the pearl itself. The result is jewellery designed to carry its beauty across generations.

How We Source Our Pearls and Diamonds

Allure South Sea Pearls draws directly from pearl farms we have trusted for decades, in the pristine waters of Northern Australia, French Polynesia, and the Philippines. This direct access, built over more than thirty years by our founders and continued today, means we select from harvests rather than from wholesale inventories. Every pearl is naturally coloured. We do not accept treated or dyed pearls, at any origin.

For our Australian South Sea pearls, the finest white South Sea pearls in the world, we source exclusively from farms operating within Australia’s strictly regulated wild Pinctada maxima fishery, the last of its kind.

Our diamonds and coloured stones are selected to the same standard: set only in 18-carat gold, chosen to complement rather than compete with the pearl at the heart of each design. There are no grades or certifications that substitute for this level of direct curation, and we wouldn’t have it any other way.
